Midterm 1 results announced

November 3, 2019

Dear all,

Your Midterm 1 scores are now announced on Gradescope. Regrade requests will be opened at 13:00 on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 and will be closed at 13:00 on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. In the meantime, please READ the sample solutions and your own solutions along with the grading rubrik and comments left for your solutions on Gradescope. Please keep in mind that, on Gradescope, a rubrik item is applied to you if and only if you see a check mark next to it. Do not worry about the rubrik items that are unchecked even if you could see them.

Please send a regrade request only in the case that you believe there is an inconsistency with the grading rubrik and your solution. Regrade requests such as

  • “I think I deserve more points.”
  • “I believe my solution is correct.” (without having a correct solution.)
  • “I meant something else.”
  • “Can’t I get more points for this?”
  • “Please regrade.”

which do not include any justification are totally meaningless and will not be taken seriously. Your regrade request should explicitly mention

  • what is the inconsistency between the grading rubrik and your solution and/or
  • why you should have taken more points according to the grading rubrik and/or
  • why the comment left for your solution is not correct and points should not have been taken off.

Surely, there are students who will not bother checking this announcement on the course web site and who will send unnecessary regrade requests that were mentioned. Those should keep in mind the following: If you do not bother reading what we write, why should we bother reading what you write?

Best regards,
MATH111 Coordination.
